At Styley, your privacy is not just a policy -- it is a core product principle. We designed our service to collect as little data as possible while still providing you with a great experience. This document explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What We Collect

When you use Styley, we collect only the information you explicitly provide during the style quiz:

  • Quiz responses: Your style preferences, body type, color preferences, budget range, and occasion preferences.
  • Saved looks: Outfits you choose to save to your closet.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information (for the free tier), or any other personally identifying information. No account is required to use Styley.

How We Use Your Data

Your quiz responses are used solely to generate personalized outfit recommendations via our AI styling engine. Your saved looks are stored so you can access them later. That is it. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the service you asked for.

Data Storage

In the current version of Styley (v1), all of your data -- including quiz responses and saved looks -- is stored in your browser's localStorage. This means:

  • Your data never leaves your device for storage purposes.
  • We do not have a database of user profiles.
  • Clearing your browser data will remove your saved information.
  • Your data does not sync across devices or browsers.

Third-Party Services

Styley integrates with the following third-party services:

Anthropic (Claude API)

Your quiz responses are sent to the Claude API to generate personalized style recommendations. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. API inputs are not used to train their models.

Amazon Associates

Outfit recommendations include links to Amazon products. When you click these links, Amazon may collect data according to their privacy policy. We earn a commission from qualifying purchases, which helps keep Styley free. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more details.

Photos and Images

If you use any photo-based features (such as Virtual Try-On in future versions), your photos are processed in real time and are never stored, shared, or used for training. Photos are discarded immediately after processing.

Your Rights

Because your data is stored locally in your browser, you have full control:

  • Access: Your data is already on your device. View it anytime in your browser.
  • Delete: Clear your browser data or use the delete buttons within the app to remove saved looks.
  • Portability: Your data is stored as standard JSON in localStorage and can be exported at any time.

We Never Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Period. Our business model is based on affiliate commissions and premium subscriptions, not on monetizing your data.
